EYES WIDE SHUT from The library of my soul, United Kingdom

Dramatic, powerful imagery, so beautifully observed and presented.

@EYES WIDE SHUT: Thank you!! I'm glad you like it!

Knut Magne from Hamar, Norway

I have read that there is something called Abide Airpark in Missisippi, but do not know if this is the same Kaylin. The picture is nevertheless a good description without word for what has happened. Here it is not much left .. Congratulations on with an image full of meaning!

4 Jan 2009 7:34am

@Knut Magne: Really?? I'll have to look that up :)

Thank you, yes it's close to my heart and something I can now express after all this time. This picture was taken in an area where nearly everything was gone after the storm. The bridge you see was not even there.

Pradeep from Chennai, India

Very dramatic mood here. The tones really balance it well, nice job :)

@Pradeep: Thank you Pradeep!

Quand la nature reprend ces droits, elle n'est pas toujours très tendre ...

4 Jan 2009 10:48am

@Inés: Merci!

C'est un très bon prix!

Khorshid.~ from Tehran, Iran

magnificent ...

4 Jan 2009 11:18am

@Khorshid.~: Thank you very much Khorshid!!

k@ from Paris, France

Oh my, again those powerful tones of yours I cherrish ! Where and when was this shot ? Impressive and moving*

4 Jan 2009 11:24am

@k@: It was shot only last week on the Mississippi gulf coast. In August of 2005 nearly everything you see here was destroyed my a hurricane. Indeed there are things that should be here now but will never be seen again.

Taking photos of it is helping me to deal with it.

Thank you so much for looking!! :)

Veronelle from Lens, France

wind ! great moving tree capture

4 Jan 2009 1:03pm

@Veronelle: The tree is actually leaning, but it does look like it's blowing in the wind :)

Thank you!

MadScientist from Düsseldorf, Germany

Talking about ruins: I guess these are remnants from Kathrina? Very effective processing.

4 Jan 2009 11:02pm

@MadScientist: Yes hurricane Katrina in 2005. This was once a very large boat club, now this is all that's left and the ruins are still there. It makes me sad.

DarkElf from Perth, Australia

excellent composition, light and colour tone - they all build up a nice mood here!

5 Jan 2009 12:12am

@DarkElf: Thank you Dark Elf!!

7 Jan 2009 11:22am

Viewfinder from Bradenton, United States

I try to think happy thoughts about my home area, I try to pretend it's all like it was. But from the MS Gulf Coast to Kenner, things are just not the same. Camille devastated the Biloxi/Gulfport area, but Katrina was far worse. We need to see these strong photos of the present reality. Your title says it all.

7 Jan 2009 12:05pm

@Viewfinder: Thank you. Yes I try to do the same. Taking these pictures are helping me cope with a lot of it.

Eleftheria! from Athens, Greece

Very nice atmosphere.
